This gift has been given by the Rajasthan Government to the Ujjwala-BPL gas connection holders. Bhajan Lal (CM Bhajan Lal Sharma) government has given this relief in Rajasthan.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that LPG gas cylinder will become cheaper from January 1. He said that women will get gas cylinder for only Rs 450. This decision of the state government will benefit 70 lakh BPL families of Ujjwala scheme.

How much burden will there be on the state government?

BJP had promised in its manifesto to provide gas cylinders for Rs 450 and has also fulfilled it. Presently the Central Government is giving Rs 300 as subsidy to Ujjwala beneficiaries. At present, 30 lakh consumers are doing regular refilling under this category. If seen in this manner, the burden on the state government will be Rs 52 crore every month.

Congress government is giving cylinders for Rs 500

Earlier, the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot government of the Congress ruled government of Rajasthan had promised to provide gas cylinders to the public for Rs 500 on 22 December 2022. At the same time, in April 2023, he fulfilled his promise and started giving cylinders for Rs 500.

There are 33 crore LPG consumers.

Making a big announcement from Tonk, the Chief Minister said that the women of the Ujjwala family will get subsidy. Under PM Ujjwala scheme, women have been given relief from cooking on earthen stoves. This scheme was started in the year 2016. Since then, connections have been given to about 9.60 crore women of the country. During the year 2014, the total LPG consumers in the country were 14 crores, but in the year 2023 this number has increased to 33 crores.
