Flight Boarding Delay: This is a relief news for passengers in case of long delay in flight after boarding, this new guideline has been issued.

Flight Boarding Delay: If you travel by flight then there is an important and relieving news for you. Aviation security monitoring organization BCAS has issued a new guideline saying that in case of significant delay in flight operation after boarding, passengers should be allowed to exit the plane through the departure gate of the airport. The latest directive from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) comes amid rising incidents of overcrowding and flight delays, due to which passengers remain stranded for long periods after boarding planes, PTI reported.

Then you will not have to sit inside the plane for a long time

According to the news, BCAS Director General Zulfiqar Hasan said on Monday that the guidelines were issued to airlines and airport operators on March 30 and are now in force. He said the guidelines will help ensure less harassment for passengers and they will not have to sit inside the aircraft for long periods of time after boarding. In case of long flight delays and other emergencies after boarding, passengers will be allowed to exit through the departure gates of the respective airports.

Hasan said airport operators will have to make arrangements for infrastructure, including screening, to implement the guidelines. He said the decision to deboard the passengers will be taken by the airlines and security agencies concerned. He was giving this information separately at the function organized on the 38th foundation day of BCAS.

BCAS had imposed fine

On January 17, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security had imposed a fine of Rs 1.80 crore on IndiGo and Mumbai airport operator MIAL. This fine was imposed for passengers eating food near the aircraft at the airport. In this, a penalty of Rs 1.20 crore was imposed on IndiGo and Rs 60 lakh on MIAL. As soon as their diverted Goa-Delhi flight landed at Mumbai airport after a long delay on January 14, several passengers came out of the IndiGo plane, sat on the tarmac and some were even seen eating food there.

Domestic air traffic is increasing

Hasan said domestic air traffic is increasing and around 3,500 flights take off every day. He said the aviation security watchdog will also install smart security lanes as part of its efforts to ensure a better experience for passengers at the airport. Full-body scanners are likely to become operational at Bengaluru airport this month. In due course of time, these scanners will be introduced at airports with annual passenger traffic of more than 5 million. BCAS and other authorities have taken several steps to deal with congestion at airports amid increasing air traffic.
