Despite a decline in hiring last quarter, TCS saw its workforce shrink by 1,759. The total at the end of the financial year was 601,546. The cuts followed an earlier drop of 5,680 employees in the third quarter. TCS had 13,249 fewer employees in the fiscal year than the previous year, with revenue growth of 3.5%.

The IT sector is expected to witness minimal net additions in the current financial year, in line with trends seen in major IT companies.
