PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government had announced the PM Surya Ghar-Muft Bijli Yojana a month ago. In just one month, about one crore families from across the country have registered in this scheme. PM Modi has given this information by posting on social media platform X. The PM called this information a wonderful news. He wrote, “Registrations are being done from all parts of the country. More than five lakh registrations have been done from Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh.
300 units free electricity every month
The Prime Minister asked those who have not yet registered to do so as soon as possible. He said that this initiative promises substantial reduction in electricity expenses for households while ensuring energy production. He said, “This initiative will contribute to promoting Lifestyle for the Environment (LiFE) on a large scale and creating a better planet.” The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Modi has approved the installation of solar panels on rooftops and solar panels for one crore families. This scheme of Rs 75,021 crore was approved to provide up to 300 units of free electricity every month.
Register in the scheme in this way
Step 1. To apply, you have to go to pmsuryagarh.gov.in website. After this go to ‘Apply for Rooftop Solar’.
Step 2. Select your state and your electricity distribution company for registration.
Step 3. Now enter your electricity consumer number, mobile number and email ID. Now follow the instructions given in the portal.
Step 4. Now in the next step, login with consumer number and mobile number. Apply for rooftop solar as per the form.
Step 5. Now wait for feasibility approval from Discom. Once you get feasibility approval, get the plant installed from any of the registered vendors in your Discom.
Step 6. Once installation is complete, submit plant details and apply for net meter.
Step 7. After installation of the net meter and inspection by the Discom, you will be able to generate the commissioning certificate from the portal.
Step 8. Now after receiving the commissioning report, submit the bank account details and a canceled check through the portal.
Step 9. Now you will get the subsidy in your bank account within 30 days.
