Medicine Price Hike: Medicine prices will increase from today. Prices of 800 medicines including blood pressure, antibiotics and pain killers are increasing. These new prices will be effective from today i.e. April 1. According to what the Center said, the prices of 800 medicines will increase. According to the Dry Price Control Order, the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority has notified the increase in the prices of 800 medicines from April 1. These include medicines for blood pressure, honey, vitamins, cholesterol, fever and cold. Apart from this, the prices of steroids, antibiotics and pain killers are also increasing.
How much money is the price going up?
Even if the prices of medicines are increased from the new financial year.. it is very less. It is reported that the price of the drug has been increased by 0.0055 percent over the old price. This price is small compared to the increase in drug prices in the last two years. Earlier, concessions were given to increase prices by 10 percent in 2022-2023 and 12 percent in 2023-24.
However, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has lashed out at the Modi government for the decision to increase the prices of these medicines. It is known that the prices of 800 life-saving medicines will increase from April 1, from heart drugs to hemoglobin drugs – increasing all medicines is outrageous.
