IT Employees: TCS, Infosys, Wipro.. 63 thousand employees out in 3 companies.. What will happen in IT?

IT Employees: It is known that leading Indian IT organizations are announcing the results now. TCS and Infosys have outperformed expectations even in difficult times. But Wipro was the only disappointment. Here the profit is reduced. On the other hand, the major problem plaguing IT companies is the attrition rate. Due to this, the number of employees in the respective companies is decreasing every quarter. Even now it has decreased.

The country’s largest IT firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), second largest IT company Infosys and fourth largest IT company Wipro announced their fourth quarter results on April 12, April 18 and April 19 respectively. However, in this January-March quarter, the number of employees in these 3 companies has decreased drastically. Not only in this quarter but also in the entire financial year 2023-24, the number of employees fell by thousands. It is noteworthy that the total number of employees in these 3 IT companies has decreased by 63,759 during the year.

These giant IT companies have shown a decrease in the attrition rate. Attrition rate means staff migration. It means that employees leave one company and go to another company. In the background of economic slowdown, employees are going to other companies in the process of reducing salaries, promotions or other incentives. There are no new appointments. Attrition rate has increased only in Wipro.

TCS..

In TCS results, net profit increased by 9 percent. Thus the profit in 3 months is Rs. 12,434 crores. Earlier at the same time it was Rs. 11,392 crores. The IT giant saw a reduction of 13,249 employees in the entire financial year. 1759 persons decreased in this quarter. Now the total number of employees there is 6,01,546. This is the first time in 19 years that the number of employees has decreased in a financial year. The attrition rate has come down from 13.3 percent to 12.5 percent.

Infosys..

Infosys’ net profit rose 30 per cent in the quarter under review to Rs. 7,975 crores. Revenue increased by 1.3 percent to Rs. 37,923 crores. It is noteworthy that the full year head count in this organization has decreased by 25,994. 5423 employees were reduced during the quarter under review. This is the first time in 23 years that the number of employees here has fallen in a year. Here also the attrition rate has come from 12.9 percent to 12.6 percent.

Wipro..

Wipro, on the other hand, recorded an 8 percent decline in net profit. Could not meet expectations. Net profit for the March quarter was Rs. 2835 crores. Here the number of employees decreased by 24,516 in the full financial year. 6180 fell during this quarter. Here the attrition rate has increased marginally. Thus, the number of employees has fallen by 13,249+25,994+24,516=63,759 in these three.
