IMD Weather Update: Heat wave in some states, warning of heavy rain in some, big weather newsWeather Latest Update: Weather forecast has been released by IMD. On April 8, a forecast of severe heat and rain at some places has been issued.

India Meteorological Department has predicted heatwave in southern parts of India today. Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has also predicted light to moderate rain and hailstorm in Eastern, Central and Peninsular India till April 9.

The IMD has predicted thunderstorms and gusty winds (30-30 km) over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal during 7-11 April, over Odisha during 7-8 April and over Madhya Maharashtra during 9-11 April. Rain predicted with gusts up to 50 kmph. According to IMD, there is a possibility of light rain in Chamarajanagar, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu and Shivamogga districts of Karnataka.

Today i.e. on 8th April, there is a possibility of heat wave in different areas of Rayalaseema, North Interior Karnataka and Telangana. Heat wave conditions are likely to prevail in 8 Belagavi, Bidar, Vijayapura, Bagalkot, Gadag, Kalaburagi, Haveri, Dharwad, Koppal, Raichur, Yadgiri, Ballari, Chitradurga, Davangere and Vijayanagar districts of Karnataka on 8 April.

Yesterday, the IMD had said Rayalaseema recorded 44.5 degrees Celsius, Rentachintala and Yanam in coastal Andhra Pradesh 43.4 degrees Celsius, Jeur in Maharashtra 43 degrees Celsius, Gulbarga 42.7 degrees Celsius while Nalgonda in Telangana recorded 42 degrees Celsius.
