NPCI New Rule: The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has changed many rules of UPI payments from the new year.
- If you make a payment of more than Rs 2000 to a new number through Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM or other UPI, the first payment will be made only after four hours. During this four hours the payment can be stopped and the amount can also be changed.
- Now up to Rs 5 lakh can be paid in a day through any UPI. Earlier this amount was only one lakh rupees. This service has been implemented only on educational institutions and hospitals. The facility is not available to anyone else.
- Now even if you do not have money in your account, payment up to a limited amount can be made through UPI Now. This amount will be available to you without interest for 45 days.
- Payment can now be made without QR through Tap and Pay. All you have to do is use NFC technology of your mobile.
- Now the limit for making SIP, insurance premium and other banking payments through UPI was Rs 15,000. It has now been increased to Rs 1 lakh.
- NPCI has also increased the daily usage amount from January 1, 2024. Now daily payments up to Rs 1 lakh can be made in 24 hours.
- Now while making payment to someone through UPI, the name registered in his bank account will be shown.
- Now 1.1 percent charge will have to be paid on wallet payments of Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM.
- Japanese company Hitachi will now install UPI ATMs across the country. Through this, cash transactions can be done very easily.
- Now no payment will be made from the ID which has been inactive for one year. NPCI has issued orders to close all such accounts.
