Keeping the users in mind, WhatsApp organization is also making new features available. But the government took a decision to ban WhatsApp in this country. In particular, the decision was taken after leaving the Apple store. But this is not in India.. in China.
As per the orders of the Chinese government, Apple removed WhatsApp and Threads apps from its China App Store. China bans WhatsApp and threads as they threaten national security. Therefore it was removed from the Apple App Store. This applies only to China. Indian iPhone users will have WhatsApp available in their App Store. Even if we disagree about the laws of the countries in which we operate, it is our duty to follow them. China Cyberspace Administration ordered to remove these apps from the store. Because national security is at risk,’ Apple said in a statement, according to Bloomberg news organization. Only WhatsApp and Thread apps were removed from the Chinese store front. These apps will also be available in other store fronts, Apple clarified in its announcement.
Recently, Pakistan government banned X app due to the same security risk. Twitter and Facebook are not working even in China. India banned many apps including TikTok in 2021. Some such social media apps are banned in different countries. Both WhatsApp and Thread are applications belonging to the Meta platform. The thread was created as a competitor to the X app. The eyes on social media are very strict in China. The government is being as careful as possible to prevent information from social media from getting into the public eye. In particular, the Chinese government restricts politically sensitive information.
China is a very important country for Apple. Along with America, its biggest market is China. Most of its iPhones and other products are made in China. For this reason Apple will have to follow the orders of the Chinese government. So there is a possibility of Apple banning China.
