Vistara Pilot Crisis: Many flights were suddenly canceled by Vistara, one of the country’s biggest airlines, on Monday. The reason for this was many pilots going on sick leave simultaneously.
Now many reports have revealed that the reason for the pilots of the airline going on leave together was the new salary structure introduced by the company. This step has been taken by the airline before the merger of Air India.
Pilot unhappy with change in salary
Sources said that many pilots are unhappy after the change in salary. Many first officers have gone on sick leave to protest this. For this reason, the company has also reduced its flight operations as compared to earlier.
Vistara spokesperson has said that many flights are being canceled and delayed by the airline in the last few days. There are many reasons behind this including the absence of crew. For this reason, we have decided to reduce flight operations for the time being.
Airlines deploy big planes
The airline further said that keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers, we have reduced the flights for the time being, so that connectivity is maintained on all networks. We have also deployed aircraft like B787-9 Dreamliner and A321 Neo on some domestic routes so that we can provide joint flights and take more and more passengers to their destinations.
Refund offered to passengers
The airline said that we are offering alternative flights and refunds to the affected customers. We know that all this is causing inconvenience to passengers. For this we sincerely apologize.
