Tata-BMW: Tata Technologies has tied up with German automotive giant BMW. today said it will form a joint venture to set up an automotive software and IT development hub in India.
Tata-BMW: A joint statement by the companies said the two companies have entered into an agreement to form a joint venture (JV) with the aim of establishing an automotive software and IT development hub in Pune, Bengaluru and Chennai.
Main development and operation activities will be set up in Bangalore and Pune. Focused on Business IT Solutions in Chennai. The joint venture will offer automotive software including software-defined vehicle (SDV) solution for BMW premium vehicles and digital transformation solutions for business IT. Starts operations with 100 innovators. The joint venture will be part of BMW’s global network of software and IT hubs.
“Our collaboration with the BMW Group demonstrates our commitment to providing leading solutions in automotive software and digital engineering to customers worldwide,” said Warren Harris, MD, CEO, Tata Technologies. He said the company will help the BMW Group in engineering premium products, providing great digital experiences to their customers and taking forward its digital transformation journey in business IT.
Christoph Grote, senior vice president of BMW Group Software and EE Architecture, said that the collaboration with Tata Technologies will accelerate the program of software-defined vehicles. India has a large number of talented people with excellent software skills who can contribute their software potential.
