In an announcement, BJP has said that if the party comes to power again, the loan limit for the Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency (MUDRA) scheme will be increased by 100 percent. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “BJP has decided to increase the loan limit under Mudra Scheme from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.”
Gave more than 46 crore loans
This scheme was launched eight years ago in April 2015 by PM Modi to provide collateral free loan facility up to Rs 10 lakh to non-corporate, non-farm small and micro entrepreneurs. So far, more than 46 crore loans worth Rs 27 lakh crore have been given under PM Mudra Yojana.
PM Modi said, “In the last years, Mudra Yojana has made crores of people entrepreneurs. Seeing this success, BJP has taken another ‘resolution’. Loan up to Rs 10 lakh was made available under Mudra Scheme. Now BJP has decided to increase this limit to Rs 20 lakh. I am confident that it will be used as a new force towards building the ecosystem required for Industry 4.0.
Also promised to simplify ST portal
The BJP has also promised to simplify the GST portal to increase accessibility for users, especially MSMEs and small traders. BJP has further promised that it will encourage small traders and MSMEs to adopt Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) and expand their businesses using technology.
