Money Deadlines: The deadlines of some important works are ending in the year 2024, which are related to your pocket. This includes deadlines ranging from free Aadhaar update to income tax.
From free Aadhaar update to Income Tax rules and Demat account nomination, the deadlines for many money-related tasks have been extended. These works related to common people should be completed as soon as possible. If you are not able to complete these tasks, you may have to pay penalty and other charges.
Sovereign Gold bonds Scheme has been started by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to invest in gold. The next tranche of Sovereign Gold bonds will open between February 12 and February 16. If investors miss this deadline, then they will have to wait for the next installment, which may be in the next financial year.
Free Aadhaar Updation: If your Aadhaar card is 10 years old then you can get it updated. The government has given the facility to update Aadhaar for free till March 14, 2024. You can update Aadhaar for free on myAadhaar portal. Apart from this, you can also update Aadhaar for free by visiting CSC center.
TDS on House Rent: If you are paying monthly house rent of Rs 50,000 or more and TDS has not been deducted in the entire financial year 2023-24. Deduct TDS by paying rent in the month of March 2024.
Tax Saving Planning: If you are planning tax saving for the financial year 2023-24, then all tax saving investments will have to be made before March 31, 2024. You can claim these exemptions under the old tax regime.
Bank Fixed Deposit Deadline: Many banks have introduced special fixed deposit schemes, whose deadline is ending this year. The deadline for HDFC Senior Citizen Care FD is 10th January. Similarly, the last deadline of SBI WeCare FD is 31 March 2024.
Demat Account Nominee: If you invest in the stock market, the deadline for adding a nominee in the demat account has been extended. Nominee should be added to the demat account by June 30, 2024. If this does not work then you will not be able to trade.
ITR filing deadline: The deadline for filing ITR has been given as 31 July 2024. For FY 2023-24, all taxpayers should file income tax returns before July 31. The Income Tax Department has announced ITR-1, ITR-2 and ITR-4 for this.
