The Mahindra XUV.e8, which will basically be the electric version of the XUV700 SUV, is scheduled to be introduced globally in December 2024. It is likely to be launched in early 2025.
Mahindra XUV 700 AX5 S Launched: One of Mahindra’s best-selling cars, the XUV700 SUV model lineup has received an update with a new mid-spec AX5 Select (AX5 S) variant. The new variant is available with both petrol and diesel engines, priced at Rs 16.89 lakh and Rs 17.49 lakh, respectively. The petrol version is powered by the same 2.0L turbo engine that produces 197bhp and 380Nm, while the diesel 2.2L unit is tuned to generate two different power outputs, including 153bhp with 360Nm and 182bhp with 450NmThe output is received. Both manual and automatic gearboxes are available with both engines.
How are the features?
Talking about the features, the new Mahindra XUV700 AX5 Select has dual 10.25-inch screens (one for infotainment and one for instrument function), wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, AdrenoX Connect, Amazon Alexa, skyroof, cruise control, drive modes, engine start/stop, and more. Follow-me-home headlamps with stop button, LED DRLs, cornering lamps, full-size wheel covers and LED taillights are provided.
The company will launch many new SUVs
Apart from this, Mahindra & Mahindra has confirmed to launch 16 new SUVs by 2030. The lineup will include 9 ICE models, 7 EVs, 3 facelifts of the current model (including the XUV 3XO) and some all-new products. All upcoming Mahindra electric SUVs will be electric models based on the INGLO architecture, which will support multiple battery and motor configurations.
XUV.e8 to arrive later this year
The Mahindra XUV.e8, which will basically be the electric version of the XUV700 SUV, is scheduled to be introduced globally in December 2024. It is likely to be launched in early 2025. Once launched, the electric SUV will directly compete with the soon-to-be-launched Tata Harrier EV. The XUV.e8’s powertrain setup could include an 80kWh battery pack and a single front-axle mounted electric motor. It is likely to get a range of around 500 km on a single charge. The SUV measures 4740mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2762mm. Like Mahindra’s new SUVs, it is expected to get a host of advanced comfort and connectivity features.
