EPF KYC Update Online: The need for KYC (Know Your Customer) has increased due to many internet scams and security breaches. Certain benefits on the Employee Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) portal are available only to their KYC verified members. To facilitate these matters EPFO has introduced online KYC facility for EPF members on its member e-seva portal.

EPF KYC Update Online: Employees choose Employees Provident Fund (EPF) account for retirement plan. EPFO has made it mandatory to link Aadhaar number with other documentation. The need for KYC (Know Your Customer) has increased due to many internet scams and security breaches. Certain benefits on the Employee Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) portal are available only to their KYC verified members. To facilitate these matters EPFO has introduced online KYC facility for EPF members on its member e-seva portal. It makes it easy for EPP members to update their account information and complete their KYC online. The new facility for EPFO is called ‘Joint Declaration’. If you need to make adjustments to your EPF account you can fill the joint declaration form online.

Joint Declaration Form
  • Joint Declaration Form is the EPF form used to update the details of Provident Fund (PF) members.
  • To correct wrong information entered in employees’ PF accounts, the employer and employee sign a joint form.
  • It will be sent to the Regional PF Commissioner.You can modify any of the eleven parameters using the joint declaration form.
  • Aadhaar, or Unique Identification Number (UID), includes name, gender, DOB, mother’s and father’s names, relationship, marital status, dates of joining and leaving employment, reasons for leaving, nationality, among others.
  • Members must provide the approved list of documents with correction requests as provided by EPFO, depending on the required corrections.
  • To correct the name, Aadhaar is required. Passport, Birth Certificate or any other required document issued by the Registrar of Births and Deaths must be submitted to correct the date of birth.
  • It should be noted that members can modify their information in EPFO records only for a certain period of time.
  • For example you can only change your name and gender once. But you can change your marital status twice.
How to do online KYC in EPF account (EPF KYC Update Online)
  • Member should go to e-seva site and sign in with your password, captcha code, UAN (Universal Account Number). You will receive an OTP on the phone number associated with your Aadhaar.
  • Enter the OTP along with the captcha.
  • After login select ‘Joint Declaration’ from ‘Manage’ menu.
  • Now go to new webpage. Select EPF Account Number or Member ID. EPF members can update both personal and service data. The website displays records related to EPFO. Provides an editable box for members.
  • After making the necessary corrections you need to tick the box to indicate that you agree to this joint statement using Aadhaar to verify identity. After that select ‘Proceed’.
  • The EPF member must upload the required papers based on the modifications made to the EPF account. After you have uploaded the required documents click ‘Submit’.
  • The changes will be reflected in the EPFO portal once approved by the PF authority.
  • The KYC update process usually takes 20 to 25 days.
