Audi Business Expansion: German luxury car manufacturer Audi has made a big announcement regarding its business expansion in the auto industry. The company has said that it has planned to introduce more than 20 new models in different markets by the end of next year i.e. 2025. Audi AG Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Gernot Dollner said on Tuesday that the company also plans to electrify all major segments by 2027. The automobile manufacturer has also set capital expenditure of 41 billion euros for the period between 2024-2028.

Will invest 29.5 billion euros

Audi AG will invest 11.5 billion euros in the development of ICEs (Internal Combustion Engines), PHEVs (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles) and other segments, and 29.5 billion euros in BEVs (Battery Electric Vehicles) and digitalization.

Plan to bring this model in 2024-25

Döllner said that the Audi Q6 e-tron is the beginning of a broader product initiative that we will use to rejuvenate our portfolio in the coming years. He said that we are planning more than 20 new models in 2024 and 2025, including the presentation of the A6 e-tron in the summer of 2024 and the A5 as the first model on the new Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) in the second half of the year. And the new generation of Q5 is included.

Sold 1.78 lakh EV units last year

The CEO said that the group is preparing itself for the future economically, technologically and strategically and plans to bring new products on the road one by one. Dollner said that despite recent public discussion, there is no doubt about the future of electric cars. Audi delivered 1.78 lakh electric vehicle units last year (in 2023), which is 51 percent more than in 2022.

EV units will be assembled in India

Audi India is considering starting local assembly of electric vehicles (EV). If this happens, the company will be able to provide vehicles at lower prices in India and will help in increasing its customer base. The EV range includes Q8 50 e-tron, Q8 55 e-tron, Q8 Sportback 50 e-tron, Q8 Sportback 55 e-tron, e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT.
