Apps like Google Pay, Paytm were affected due to interruptions in UPI services. Lakhs of users faced problems in transactions. SBI customers faced problems in fund transfer.

UPI Services Outage: Many apps working on the basis of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) services faced a major interruption on Wednesday. Due to this, users across the country were troubled. According to Downdetector, the complaints increased on Wednesday evening. After 7:00 pm, the outage graph saw an increase of more than 23,000 reports.
Major payment platforms, including Google Pay, Paytm and various banking apps faced interruption in functioning. Due to this, lakhs of users could not complete their transactions.
SBI customers faced problems in fund transfer
296 Google Pay users have complained of problems in transactions. 119 Paytm users have made such a complaint. At the same time, 376 complaints of transactions have been received on the UPI platform of SBI (State Bank of India). Many SBI customers have reported problems with fund transfer and online banking services.
Several users took to social media to report that digital payment platforms like Google Pay and PhonePe were down. Many also wondered if they were the only ones facing technical glitches.

One user posted on X, “For the first time in my life I have experienced UPI downtime. Not the bank or the gateway, but @UPI_NPCI itself. By the way, the uptime was 100% in February.”
Another user posted on X, “UPI is down for the first time and it’s impact is visible. Most of us have already stopped carrying cash. This downtime has created a do or die situation. The elders were right about carrying cash.”
The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), which oversees UPI, has not yet released a statement about the cause of the disruption.
