RAPIDEX Train Safely Features: Passengers will be able to travel in RapidX train running on Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut route from 21st October i.e. Saturday.

RAPIDX Train Special Safety Features: The wait to travel in the RapidX train running on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut route is about to end. The look of this train is like a bullet train and the facilities in it are even better than the metro train. Equipped with CCTV cameras, emergency door, communication with loco pilot and other state-of-the-art security features, this train is very special in many respects.

A media preview of the RapidX train was organized on Wednesday (October 18) ahead of the inauguration of the 17 km long primary section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor. This Rapidex train is to be run on the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), a joint venture of the Center and the governments of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. The corridor of this semi high speed train is currently under construction.

Available from mobile laptop charging to Wi-Fi

These trains are equipped with several safety features apart from passenger amenities like overhead luggage rack, Wi-Fi and a mobile and laptop charging outlet at every seat. The senior official said that there are about six CCTV cameras in each coach and the safety of passengers is a priority on this corridor.

Emergency door can be opened easily

Apart from this, a system has been installed to open the emergency door in case of emergency. Also, buttons have been provided for communication with the train operator. Fire safety equipment is also present.

Another officer said that there is a latch covered with glass near the emergency door. In case of emergency, the glass has to be broken and the latch has to be turned, after which the door will open slightly and after that it can be opened completely by pushing it with hand.

However, officials said that this mechanism should be operated only by train attendants in RAPIDEX trains. A train attendant will be present in the premium coach of the train, but he can roam in other coaches also. He said that in case of emergency the attendant can be contacted.

Guard screen between train and platform at station

For better security, guard screens called screen doors (PSD) have been installed at every RRTS station. These are with PSD Rapidex train doors and signaling system. That is, when the train arrives and stops, along with the opening of the train door, the guard screen between the station and the train will also open. And will stop after the train passes.

Every facility will be available on mobile application

Officials said passengers can also avail emergency assistance through the RAPIDX Connect mobile application. Direct facility to complain to the authorities is also available at the stations.

PM Modi will inaugurate

NCRTC has been entrusted with the task of overseeing the construction of India’s first RRTS between Delhi and Meerut. The target is to commission the entire 82.15 km long Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor by June 2025. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first section on October 20 and passengers will be able to travel from October 21.
