Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM Kisan) is a central government scheme. The scheme was launched to financially empower marginal farmers with small plots of land. Crores of farmers across the country have benefited through PM Kisan Yojana. The Center says that with the money given by PM Kisan, they are able to buy fertilizers and seeds on time, and this has increased the crop yield in their fields. Now these farmers are getting more profit from agriculture than before.
Under the Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, farmers are given Rs.6000 per year. Each of these taxes is Rs. 2000 each in three equal installments. What is special is that the government transfers the PM Kisan amount directly into the farmers’ accounts. So far the central government has released 16 installments of PM Kisan. Now the farmers are waiting for the 17th installment. Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 16th episode of PM Kisan on February 28. Then more than 9 crore farmers took advantage of this scheme. More than Rs.21 crores have been spent together. But now the farmers don’t have to wait much for the 17th installment.
eKYC is required
The central government may release the 17th tranche amount in the month of June or July. However, no official statement has yet been issued by the government regarding this. Meanwhile, news is coming that only the farmers who do e-KYC will get the benefit of 17th tranche. Because the central government has made e-KYC mandatory. According to the PM Kisan website, eKYC is mandatory for eligible farmers registered with PM Kisan.
Where to get e-KYC?
If you have not completed e-KYC yet, you can get it from your nearest CSC center. Here you have to provide your Aadhaar Card. After that your e-KYC will be complete. At the same time you can also do e-KYC by visiting the official PM Kisan portal pmkisan.gov.in.
How to register for PM Kisan Yojana?
- First go to the official website of PM Kisan pmkisan.gov.in.
- Here click on Farmer’s Corner option.
- Then click on ‘New Farmer Registration’ option.
- After this select Rural Farmer Registration or Urban Farmer Registration.
- Enter your Aadhaar number, mobile number, select your state and click on ‘Get OTP’.
- Fill the OTP. Also proceed for registration.
- Enter other information like state, district, bank details, personal details.
- Click on ‘Submit’ to prove the authenticity of Aadhaar card.
