According to the Central Government, till July this year, 83,70,263 beneficiaries from Madhya Pradesh, 63,98,381 farmers from Rajasthan, 21,70,541 farmers from Chhattisgarh, 31,15,499 beneficiaries from Telangana and 92,520 farmers were registered under this scheme.
A senior official of the ministry said that since this scheme is already running, there is no restriction on transfer of PM Kisan Fund among farmers in election states.
The total amount transferred to beneficiaries since the launch of the scheme is expected to exceed Rs 2.80 lakh crore, the ministry said in the release. This financial assistance will help farmers to meet their agricultural and other emergent needs. It says that PM Kisan is one of the largest direct benefit transfer schemes in the world.
