A major train accident has occurred in Bihar. 12506 Down North East Express derailed and crashed near Raghunathpur railway station on Danapur-Buxar railway section at around 9.45 pm on Wednesday night. In this accident, six coaches of the train derailed. One box climbed onto another box. Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar has confirmed the death of six people so far. Railway sources said that more than 12 coaches have derailed. Around 100 passengers have been injured in the accident. Railway and local administration officials and personnel are engaged in relief and rescue operations.
On receiving information about the accident, Dumraon SDO Kumar Pankaj and Brahmapur police station reached the spot for relief and rescue operations. A crowd of people has gathered at the spot. Common people are also engaged in rescue work. Railway sources said that after opening from Buxar, North East Express was running at its normal speed. Railway sources said that the train crashed with a strong shock while changing the point near Raghunathpur railway station. Villagers told that the train coaches derailed and overturned with a loud noise near Raghunathpur West Gumti. Within a moment, there was screaming from the passengers in the compartment. Even after nightfall, hearing the crying and screaming, people nearby ran towards it and immediately informed the administration.
Beds kept safe in PMCH and IGIMS
After the train accident, the health department and Patna district administration also came into action late in the night. Instructions were issued by the district administration to keep beds safe in two big hospitals of Patna. The Civil Surgeon as well as the PMCH and IGIMS administration have been asked to be prepared for emergencies. According to the information, 25 beds are currently kept safe in PMCH. At the same time, beds have been reserved in IGIMS for the treatment of people injured in the train accident. Apart from this, if needed, arrangements for treatment have also been made in other hospitals of the capital.
Meanwhile, the routes of many other trains including Seemanchal Express, Guwahati Rajdhani, Vibhuti Express, Punjab Mail are being changed. Trains are being sent to Kiul from Varanasi via another route. 12149 Danapur Pune Express is standing at Danapur only. Relief train has left for the spot. Danapur DRM Jayant Kumar Chaudhary and Senior DCM Saraswati Chandra have left for the spot.
Ashok, a resident of Babu Bazar, Arrah, who was traveling in the accident in the North East Express, said that he and three other people, including the mother of Mangalam, a social worker from Arrah, had boarded the train from Vindhyachal at around 8.30 pm. Suddenly at 9:30 in the night the train started wobbling with a loud noise. The further bogies crashed. The woman accompanying him has minor injuries on her leg and head. As soon as the information about the accident was received, Mangalam reached the accident site in a four-wheeler and brought the people of Ara who were with him including his mother by car.

Train accident in Dumraon is tragic, relief and rescue instructions:
While the state’s Deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav described the train accident in Dumraon as sad. He said that instructions have been given for relief and rescue. Late on Wednesday night, Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav said in a tweet on social media that the Disaster Management Department, Health Department and district officials of Buxar and Bhojpur are taking action on the tragic incident of overturning of several bogies of North East Express going from Delhi to Guwahati in Buxar. After talking to them, instructions have been given to reach the spot as soon as possible, speed up the relief and rescue work and make proper medical arrangements for the injured. He said that the Bihar government is actively engaged in rescue, relief and treatment of the victims and injured.
ADG Railway orders IG and SP to camp
Regarding the train accident that took place near Raghunathpur station in Buxar district, late night ADG Railway Bachchu Singh Meena instructed the officers to camp on the spot. ADG asked Railway IG Rajesh Tripathi and SP Amrtendu Shekhar Thakur to leave immediately. After this, both the officers reached the accident site late in the night. ADG Railways said that his team is in touch with the local administration. Additional railway police personnel have also been sent to the accident site. Instructions have been given to railway police officers and soldiers to provide all possible help to the injured passengers. The Railway Police team is also in touch with the local villagers so that assistance can be taken from them if needed. Nearby railway police stations have also been deployed in relief work.
