MS Dhoni Imparts Guru Mantra to Young Bowler Vignesh Puthur After Victory, Shares Special Moment

IPL 2025: Making his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians, 24-year-old Vignesh Puthur won everyone’s heart with his performance against Chennai. He took the wicket of 3 batsmen with his bowling. MS Dhoni praised him as soon as the match ended.

IPL 2025: After the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI), former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson shared his thoughts on opener Rachin Ravindra’s innings and what impressed him the most.

Rachin Ravindra played an unbeaten knock of 65 runs in 45 balls, which included four sixes and two fours. He scored these runs at a strike rate of 144.44 and batted till the last ball of Chennai’s innings after opening the batting at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Jiostar Expert Kane Williamson while speaking on JioHotstar said that, “Their contributions were crucial, especially in the partnerships they built. Rituraj played fluently, batting at a strike rate of 200 on a surface that was not easy to bat on. However, Rachin Ravindra displayed the skill and temperament that was needed on this wicket. He handled the innings and led his team to victory, which was great to see. It was also a clear blueprint for Chennai at home.,”

Summary of the match, A spirited spell from Noor Ahmed and a courageous 65* from Rachin Ravindra powered Chennai Super Kings to a four-wicket win against Mumbai Indians at Chepauk.

CSK won the toss and decided to bowl first. Khaleel Ahmed (3/29) restricted MI to 36/3 before a 51-run partnership between skipper Suryakumar Yadav (29 off 26 balls, with two fours and a six) and Tilak Verma (31 off 25 balls, with two fours and two sixes) helped MI get back in the game.

Noor Ahmed (4/18) delivered a game-changing spell as MI lost wickets regularly. Deepak Chahar (28* off 15 balls with two fours and two sixes) gave the bowlers something worth fighting for as MI scored 155/9 in their 20 overs.

In the run-chase, CSK lost Rahul Tripathi (2) early. A 67-run partnership between skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad (53 off 26 balls, with six fours and three sixes) and Rachin helped CSK steady, but a fine spell from Vignesh Puthur (3/32) threatened to change the game.

CSK folded for 116/5, but Rachin (65* off 45 balls, with two fours and four sixes) and Ravindra Jadeja (17 off 18 balls) took CSK over the finishing line with four wickets and five balls to spare. (ANI)
