LPG Price Cut: Earlier on Rakhi, the government had reduced the prices of LPG cylinders by Rs 200 under the Ujjwala scheme. But today it was increased to Rs 300.
LPG subsidy: Giving some more relief to the beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme, the government has increased the subsidy on LPG gas cylinder from Rs 200 to Rs 300. Union Minister Anurag Thakur has given this information on October 4. He told that this decision has been taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by PM Narendra Modi.
Earlier, the government had reduced the prices of LPG cylinders by Rs 200 under the Ujjwala scheme on Rakhi. But today it was increased to Rs 300. For common people, the current price of 14.2 kg LPG in Delhi is Rs 903. Whereas the beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme will now get it for Rs 603.
A total of 10.35 crore people in the country are taking advantage of cheap gas cylinders under the Ujjwala scheme. Under this scheme, LPG connections will be given to about 75 lakh houses in the country in the next three years. With this, the number of women covered under this scheme will increase to 10.35 crore.
It has been decided in the cabinet to provide 75 lakh new LPG connections. Union Minister Anurag Thakur had said, “Giving additional LPG connections will increase the burden of Rs 1650 crore on the central government.”
