The process of getting a proper driving license takes place in two steps. First a learner driving license is made and then a permanent driving license is made. The minimum age to get a driving license is 18 years.
If you have turned 18 and are thinking of getting a learner driving license, then we are going to tell you the process. For this you will not need to pay money to any broker. You can apply for learner driving license online yourself and get your learner driving license by giving a test.
How to apply for learning driving license?
- First of all go to https://sarathi.parivahan.gov.in/.
- After visiting this website, first of all you have to select your respective state.
- Then, go to the “Learner License” menu and click on “Apply for a new Learner License”.
- Generate OTP by entering your Aadhar card details and mobile number.
- Fill the Learner’s License Application Form and click on the Next button to proceed.
- Deposit the learner license application fee here and select the date of test appointment at the RTO.
- Go to RTO on the scheduled date with necessary documents (Aadhaar card, application form etc.) and fee slip.
During this process, you will also have to choose whether you want to go to the RTO and give the test or you want to give the test online sitting at home. If you choose to give the test by going to RTO, then you will have to go to RTO on the fixed date whereas if you choose the option of online test at home, then you will not need to go to RTO. After passing the test, you will get your learner license home.
It is noteworthy that many states of the country (including Uttar Pradesh and Delhi) are conducting online tests for learner’s license. This is a service started keeping in mind the convenience of the general public.
