
IMD Weather Update: In view of the flood-like situation in Junagadh, NDRF has been put on alert. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert there for the next two days.

The weather department has issued red and orange alert in several districts of Gujarat including Junagadh for the next two days. At the same time, orange alert has also been issued for the areas of Maharashtra. Monsoon in India is at its peak this time. Rivers are overflowing due to heavy rains. Vehicles and cattle were seen drifting due to cloudburst near Shimla.
Gujarat Chief Minister Raghavji Patel has canceled all his programs amid the flood-like situation in Junagadh. Giving an update, he said, ‘Today (Saturday) it rained heavily in Junagadh. A large amount of water has entered the city. People are safe, though teams of NDRF and SDRF are deployed there,”
Gujarat has issued an alert in these areas
The weather department has issued a red alert for Junagadh, Jamnagar, Devbhumi Dwarka, Kutch, Surat, Valsad, Navsari and Surat. Heavy rain is expected in these areas for the next two days. Orange alert has been issued for Ahmedabad, Anand, Bharuch, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Amreli, Jamnagar, Gir Somnath, Kutch. Apart from this, yellow alert has been issued for Surendranagar, Dahod, Rajkot, Botad, Vadodara, Surat, Navsari till 24 July.
Orange alert in Maharashtra
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places in Maharashtra’s Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts on Sunday. Konkan and Ghat regions of Madhya Maharashtra are likely to receive light to moderate rains from 23-26 July while heavy to very heavy rains are expected at some places. The weather department said that there may be heavy rain in Marathwada today.
