Force Gurkha: The company has launched Force Gurkha in both 5-door and 3-door variants. After coming in the market, this SUV will mainly compete with Mahindra THAR. However, the launch of Thar 5-door is still awaited. Many major changes have been made in this SUV equipped with Mercedes Benz engine.
Force Gurkha: Force Gurkha 5-Door and 3 Door Launched In India: Force Motors has finally launched its famous offroading SUV Force Gurkha in a completely new avatar. Equipped with attractive looks and powerful engine, the company has launched this SUV in both 5-door and 3-door variants. The starting price of its five-door variant has been fixed at Rs 18 lakh and the starting price of three-door variant has been fixed at Rs 16.75 lakh (ex-showroom).
Bookings for the new Force Gurkha have already started from 29th April. Which interested customers can book through the company’s official website and authorized dealership. Force Motors says that the test drive of this SUV is planned to start from this week and delivery from the middle of the month. The company has made many major changes in this SUV which make it better than the previous model.
At present, Force Gurkha will directly compete with Mahindra Thar. However, Thar currently comes only in three-door variant. There are plans to launch Thar 5-door in the month of August this year. THAR is also available in petrol engine with two-wheel drive and automatic transmission gearbox. Whereas Gurkha comes only in diesel manual and standard four wheel drive (4WD) variants.
Look and Design
With many major changes from exterior to interior, the new Force GURKHA has been introduced in both three-door (3 Door) and five-door (5 Door) variants. The company has launched the new Force Gurkha in the market in many different colors. Which includes green, red, white and black colors. The 5 Door variant is similar to the 3 Door variant in terms of looks and design. Although it is bigger in size and has more space in its cabin along with better seating capacity.
Force Gurkha has a single slat grille, fender mounted turn indicators, circular LED headlamps, daytime running lights, fog lights with cornering system, roof rack, chunky wheel arches etc. Talking about the size of Gurkha 3-Door, its length is 3,965 mm, width is 1,865 mm and height is 2,080 mm. At the same time, it has a wheelbase of 2,400 mm and turning radius of 5.5 meters.
Force Gurkha Size
Gurkha 5-Door measures 4,390 mm in length, 1,865 mm in width and 2,095 mm in height. Being large in size, it has a wheelbase of 2,825 mm and turning radius of 6.3 meters. It has been given a ground clearance of 233 mm. This SUV comes with 34 degree gradeability. The company has given 18 inch alloy wheel in it. Apart from this, its water wedging capacity is also 700-mm. Which helps it to move forward easily without stopping even on bad and water-filled roads.
Power and Performance
A 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system has been provided in the cabin of Gurkha. Which comes with Android Auto and Apple Car Play wireless car connectivity system. The company has used a 2.6 liter capacity 4 cylinder diesel engine sourced from Mercedes-Benz. Which generates strong power of 138 bhp and torque of 320Nm. This engine is paired only with a 5-speed manual transmission. It has a standard four-wheel drive (4X4) system.

Other features include digital instrument cluster, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, manual AC, roof mounted AC vents, power windows in all doors. Force Gurkha has also improved in safety. It has dual airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), tire pressure monitoring system. In Gurkha 5 Door, the company has included bench seat in the second row i.e. second row and captain seat in the third row i.e. third row.
