Bank Holiday: According to the Reserve Bank of India, there are three types of bank holidays in the country: Holidays under Negotiable Instruments Act, Holidays under Negotiable Instruments Act Real Time Gross Settlement and Bank Closing of Accounts.

Bank Bhai Dooj Holiday: Due to Diwali and other festivals, banks remained closed in various Indian cities today i.e. on 14th November. Although bank branches remained closed, online banking services continued to operate. Customers can do e-transactions and can also avail many services by visiting ATM.

Just as banks remained closed in many states on Tuesday, similarly banks will remain closed in many places tomorrow too. Banks will remain closed in Sikkim, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, Bengal and Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday (November 15) on the occasion of Bhai Dooj/Chitragupta Jayanti/Lakshmi Puja (Deepawali)/Ningol Chakkouba/Bharatrividiya.

According to the Reserve Bank of India, there are three types of bank holidays in the country: Holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act Real Time Gross Settlement and Bank Closing of Accounts.

Overall, according to the holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks remain closed for 15 days in November. These holidays include regular holidays like second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays. But according to the RBI calendar, nine holidays are either festival or gazetted. Some bank holidays are regional and may vary from state to state and bank to bank. That is, it is not necessary that if there is a holiday for any festival in UP, it will be celebrated on the same day in some other state also.
