The state government has issued an order in this regard. The new rates of dearness allowance will be applicable from July 1, 2023 and the outstanding amount will be paid to the beneficiaries in cash. Apart from this, from January 1, 2024, increased dearness allowance will be given to the employees every month in their salary.
This order of the Uttarakhand government will be applicable to all regulator employees of the state government and employees of all government educational and technical institutions.
How much increase in DA is possible for central employees?
According to reports, the Central Government may increase Dearness Allowance (DA) by up to 4% from January 1, 2024. The report says that an announcement in this regard can be made in March 2024. AICPI index has increased by 139.1 percent. If the government increases the dearness allowance by 4%, then the dearness allowance can increase to 50%.
The Central Government had also increased the dearness allowance by 4% in October last year, after which the dearness allowance of the central government increased to 46%. This increase came into effect from July 1, 2023. The government also pays dearness allowance to the employees along with their salary, so that the increase in prices in the economy can be compensated to the employees. Dearness allowance is also paid to pensioners. Due to increase in dearness allowance, the pension of pensioners also increases. Dearness allowance will be paid according to basic salary.
